Life Size Bronze |

The creation of this Life sized Bronze has to be the definition of team work. In March 2008 I was thrilled to receive my first commission for a bronze. A life sized version of my favorite piece. However after seven month I still did not have the energy to start this mammoth work. This was following a head injury in a riding accident that left in a coma for 2 weeks. I spent another month in a wheelchair. I was recovering quickly, thank God, with a lot of help from Mum and a lot of sleep. My husband George came to the rescue . He built a poly tunnel attached to my Art cabin and together we made the first horse. Then Vitalli, a boat-building photographer came to help us. George and Vitaliy were great co-workers. In the 4 weeks he stayed with us we made 2 horses while he learned to ride, canter and jump. Together they were the strength I lacked, They were the hands, I was the eyes. I would draw with a marker and they would carve inside the lines. The sculptor, Leo Higgins who owns Cast bronze Foundry in Dublin, working with Vadim made the casting possible. The list of all the people who made this project possible is long, to mention a few Mum, Tamso Doyle, Peter Curling, Mark Coreth, family, friends and not forgetting HRI. THANK YOU all so much. And from the bottom of my heart I thank you God for being able to do this, You have been my friend through everything.
